Mask Project - I-Canter will be making a request for masks as they are reopening on-site programming in August.

 

Hog Shed Scavenger Hunt - Heather Scott shared information on this fundraiser.  All proceeds from entrants go to Pathstone Mental Health and Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre! A link to the event is located here on Facebook

President Hugh Graham's Report
- Hugh shared his vision and priorities for the coming year
- "Family is Rotary and Rotary is Family"
- Sandy Graham is President this year of the Rotary Club of Welland
- Expand Membership: We currently have 29 members with 1 Corporate Member being processed
- Meeting Agendas: Draft will go out to members in advance of meetings. Members are asked to contact Hugh with any changes or additions to the agenda.  Hugh will ensure that meetings don't go overtime.  PODs will continue to organize and people assigned agenda items will be listed in the draft agenda.
- Board Meetings: All directors are requested to submit reports in advance of the meeting by the Friday prior and these reports will be distributed on Monday or Tuesday.  Items that require action will be discussed at the meeting.
- In person meetings - remote participation - We will figure out a way for members who are traveling or guest speakers from a distance to participate virtually.
- Goals for Club: There are 25 goals connected with the Presidential Citation.  A minimum number (13) of these goals must be achieved during the year. The Board will review next week with the objective of finalizing these at the July 22 Business Meeting.  Club Secretary will enter our goals into Rotary Club Central
- Support for DG Frank as homebase club.  We will focus on ways that we can support Frank during this year.
- Arches: Our Club turns 30 years old in 2021.  Hugh would like to see the Arches installed in 2021 in celebration of that milestone.
- Hugh gave special note of thanks to Past President Mike Taylor.  There will be a thank you card with a gift certificate to Peter Pipers for Mike and family.
- "Get your masks ready, Fonthill is ready to rock!"

 

Rotarian Ron Mergle passed away on Saturday July 4, 2020.  A fitting tribute to his life can be found in this recent news article entitled 'Longtime Niagara vet went above and beyond for clients, community'.
