Cluster Grant Speaker: The scheduled speaker was not able to attend so Andrew Larmand led a membership discussion. Andrew commented that membership is like the weather, we all talk about it but we are not sure what to do. Our first task was to interview the person sitting next to us and ask them questions related to why and how they joined Rotary. He then passed around a sheet listing the qualities of a prospective member and asked each table to discuss if any qualities were missing or if any of the listed qualities were not ones we considered accurate. Finally a list of classifications was passed around and we were asked to identify those that were missing from our club and asked to think who in the community might be able to fill that classification. The outcome from this is that we should invite potential members to a breakfast, preferably a business meeting, where they can learn more about what Rotary does. There was also discussion of holding a wine and cheese social possibly in conjunction with the Welland Club. Mel and Kelly agreed to join Andrew on the membership committee and they will look into planning a social around April 24th. Announcement Today was Mel’s last day at work after 40 years at RBC.
