Mid-year Financial Update – Randy Momot
We started July 1, 2018 with an excess of $24,000.  With ongoing commitments, plus new $5000 expense for Rotary Walkway at MCC and loss of Mudfest revenue of $12-$13,000, we will end the year eroding the excess to $7000.  This does not include potential revenue from Rotary Funfest Day at Bissell’s in June.  In order to maintain our committed costs, we are counting on a successful Funday and may have to look at an additional fundraiser in the fall.

Mid-year Review of Meeting Schedule – Discussed first half of Rotary year and changes to meetings, including board meetings and social events.  Majority like the idea of replacing one AM meeting per month with board meeting.  Any social evening events should not replace regular morning meetings.

Rotary Family Funfest Update – Paul Snack
Paul is working on a budget and marketing material.  We will spend some time at Jan 23 meeting planning and discussing event.

District Grant – Mel Groom
District Grant applications are being accepted until the end of March.  Club has agreed to apply for funding 2 defibrillators for St. Johns Ambulance.  Meeting will be planned with Grant Chair Teresa Quinlin, Mel Groom and Frank Adamson to complete application.

Auction Update – nothing to report

Dues are due for first half of January. Visa will be available at next meeting for payment.

An Active Indigenous Youth Program – Jan 22 6-8pm at Habitat for Humanity, St Catharines
We have been invited by NOTL club to attend an information evening to discuss Federal funding available for construction skill training.  Habitat is planning house builds in conjunction with training Indigenous youth.  Any members interested in attending, please contact Mel.

New Business
  • Family Day Community Expo at MCC 12-2pm.  We agreed to host an information table with the intention of promoting Rotary Family Funfest.
  • Council Presentation Jan 7 by Frank Adamson.  Formal approval was granted by Town Council to accept our offer to coordinate grant applications for The Rotary Walkpath behind MCC.
  • We were invited by Kinsman Doug Freeland to participate in a joint Pelham Service Club meeting. Date to be determined.  This is an excellent opportunity for clubs to meet and discuss community priorities.
