Canada Day: Lance has this well in hand but could still use a few more volunteers.
Rotary Banner Tamara presented incoming President Mel with the Rotary banner for 2018-2019 with its motto of “Be the inspiration”. Tamara promised to be available to help in any way she can in her role as ADG. Travel Lottery: More research is being done into this fundraising possibility. Both Pen Financial and CAA are interested in being sponsors and perhaps Welland Honda. CAA can book the travel and also sell tickets, which would cost $100 for a year’s worth of monthly draws. Dues: Rotary dues of $150 cash or $154 by card are due as of July 1st.
Speaker Our exchange student Fede was the speaker today. He gave a great presentation about his year in Canada. Prior to his arrival he had studied English for a year and a half, but when he arrived and Mike started talking to him he knew he was in trouble with English. What a difference a year makes as he now speaks very good English. Fede thanked Mike and his three other hosts families: Brianna, Barb and Randy for each giving him a different experience. There will be one last chance to say goodbye to him At Mel’s on the 29th after which he will be returning home to Paraguary. |
