The Rotary Club of Fonthill has been approved for a Rotary District 7090 Grant to purchase and distribute trees for planting in Pelham. Native tree species are being provided at cost by Willowbrook Nurseries, and mulch for each tree is being provided free of charge by Safe Tree Ltd. Together with the District we are purchasing 400 trees, approximately 300 trees to be provided as part of this Earth Day event, and up to 100 being reserved for a 'Rotary Forest' being coordinated with Pelham Cares on the lands adjacent the headwaters of Twelve Mile Creek. Trees for the 'Rotary Forest' will be specially selected and located to be compatible with this unique location. Planning this Rotary Forest is being done under the guidance of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority.
Tree Orders are Now Closed. The trees ordered will be available for pickup at the Meridian Community Centre on Saturday April 20 between 9am and noon. Note: Trees listed on the form will be subject to availability and could change. If the tree you select is not available when you arrive, you will be able to select an alternative. Tree Types: Red Maple, Bur Oak, Hackberry, Tulip Tree, Serviceberry. Download Native Trees Details (pdf)
