As part of a commitment to supporting a thriving community and healthy environment, the Rotary Club of Fonthill has secured funding for 400 native trees: approximately 300 will be offered to Pelham residents while up to 100 will be set aside for planting a new ‘Rotary Forest’ behind Pelham Cares at the headwaters of Twelve Mile Creek.
This project is in partnership with the Town of Pelham, Pelham Advocates for Trees and Habitat and Niagara Peninsula Conservation, and is made possible by a grant from Rotary District 7090. Many thanks to Pelham businesses Safe Tree Professional Tree Care for supplying mulch, and Willowbrook Nurseries for the provision of native trees.
The Pelham Tree Planting Initiative invites homeowners who live or work in Pelham to register online up until April 18. The trees will be available for pick-up on Saturday, April 20 at the Meridian Community Centre. Planting/care instructions and mulch will be provided.
