The Fonthill Club is excited to be off to such a great start by our ‘PODs’ (meeting organizing teams) for 2024.

We hit the ground running on January 3rd with Guest Speaker Nancie Taylor updating us on a Food4Kids Niagara Fundraiser!  Nancie is a Food4Kids board member, enthusiastic supporter of youth programs, and her family are regular hosts for Rotary Youth Exchange.  Learn more about Food4Kids here:

Our Guest Speaker on January 10th was Irene Newton from the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.  Our club has been a committed supporter of Relief efforts for Ukraine along with other Niagara Rotary Clubs.  The UCC has most recently been awarded $1,500 funding from the club to help provide support for displaced Ukrainians as a result of the war in Ukraine.  The cheque was presented at the meeting after an update from Irene. Applications for funds are considered twice annually by the Club: Community Requests for Financial Support

Our Guest Speaker on January 17th was Julie Andrews, CEO, Lincoln Pelham Public Library.  The library has been a regular beneficiary of funds from our club, supporting the Rotary focus on literacy.

In February we have the following lineup:
    • Feb 7: Jessica Stephenson will present an update on Niagara Nutrition Partners, followed by a cheque presentation
New member Sharon Pfeifer will be formally inducted into the club and will present on her work at the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation
    • Feb 14: Colleen Smith and Sara Palmieri, FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre
Topic: Youth Community Programs, specifically the imPACt Education Series
    • Feb 21: Leadership Niagara – Strategic Planning Session 1
