Mark your calendars for Earth Week 2024! The Rotary Club of Fonthill will be combining efforts with other community groups on Saturday April 20th at the Meridian Community Centre! The Rotary Club of Fonthill has been approved for a Rotary District 7090 Grant to purchase and distribute trees for planting in Pelham. Native tree species are being provided at cost by Willowbrook Nurseries, and mulch for each tree is being provided free of charge by Safe Tree Ltd. Together with the District we are purchasing 400 trees, approximately 300 trees to be provided as part of this Earth Day event, and up to 100 being reserved for a 'Rotary Forest' being coordinated with Pelham Cares on the lands adjacent the headwaters of Twelve Mile Creek. Trees for the 'Rotary Forest' will be specially selected and located to be compatible with this unique location. Planning this Rotary Forest is being done under the guidance of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority. Click Here to order your Tree for planting in Pelham. The trees ordered will be available for pickup at the Meridian Community Centre on Saturday April 20 between 9am and noon. Note: Trees listed on the form will be subject to availability and could change. If the tree you select is not available when you arrive, you will be able to select an alternative. Tree Types: Red Maple, Bur Oak, Hackberry, Tulip Tree, Serviceberry. Come Chill on the Hill! Four days of family fun take place in Fonthill, Ontario over the 3rd weekend of July each year – Bring your family, your sunscreen, your lawn chairs and your dancing shoes! What began in 2011 as a single day, to celebrate the completion of the Downtown Streetscaping in Fonthill and to promote a pedestrian friendly town centre as advocated by the Pelham Active Transportation Committee, has since grown to a four day festival event which includes music & entertainment for all ages, children’s activities, retail & food vendors, arts, crafts, wine garden, beer pavilion and Sunday morning breakfast in Peace Park.
